Did You Know That Your Mind is Your Most Important Tool for Building Muscle Mass?

 

        Your mind, and it's mental power, is the strongest tool you have to build the body of your dreams.  It is the most powerful asset you have to change anything in your life.  I know you have heard "it's all in your head" but in many cases its true.

        Your sub-conscious mind is where the true power lies.  It directs many, many aspects of your life so your conscious mind or "mental awareness" does not have to.  It works as a computer by processing information without judgment, so if you give it positive information it will give you positive results.

 

So how can your mind be so powerful??

        I have been studying the human mind and trying to understand why some people are extremely successful and others are total failures.  And since my first love in life is fitness, more specifically natural bodybuilding, I have been applying what I have learned about this weight lifting system to my training for about 11 years now.

        Like I said before your sub-conscious mind does not make decisions by itself, it only works with the information you give to it.  So if you tell yourself things like "I can't lift this weight", "I'm not getting any stronger", or "I am not making any progress" that is exactly what you will get.  Does this sound familiar?  People are sabotaging their own success! 

        The reason this happens is because your mind really wants to help you and it believes that you are always right.  So when you say to yourself "I am not making any progress" your sub-conscious mind helps you to think about all the reasons you aren't making any progress and it actually inhibits the biochemical reactions in your body that promote muscular growth!  As a result, your sub-conscious mind helped to prove that you are right.  This example shows the power of your mind in a negative way but lets look at the flip side......

        Lets say that you tell yourself (and you believe it) that you are making wonderful progress in the gym with all your lifts.  Again, your sub-conscious mind always wants to prove that you are right so it finds for you the reasons that you are making progress.  Thoughts will be coming into your head about how you have been giving 100% on each and every set, your diet is solid, and you get plenty of rest each night.  This way you truly believe you are doing everything right to make progress and your mind will help to make this true because it ALWAYS believes you are right.

        So as long as you understand the power your mind possesses and you use it to your advantage, you can achieve goals beyond your wildest dreams.  This will work in your fitness goals as well as all other areas of your life.  This is the biggest secret behind the most successful people in the world, they use their mental power to their advantage.

 

So how do you harness this power inside your mind?

        You have a few options on how to go about acquiring this valuable and vital information for yourself.  I'll explain each one briefly and you can decide what is best for you.

Like in real life you take one step at a time; this idea also applies to natural bodybuilding.  Each step you take you must understand the philosophy behind your weight training and muscle building nutrition, as your greater understanding will create your transformation because your body will follow what your heart will follow.  Positive thinking is the best thinking.  People might say to you that "hey you don’t have a nice body yet," but this sentence must not be taken as real and you should work the best to achieve the ultimate growth.  As there are always infinite capacity of growth present in your mind and body.

Example:

"I have excellent symmetry, sheer size and definition.  My traps are big, thick and insert widely into my perfectly round sculpted shoulders.  All together, my deltoids give the illusion of great width and complete muscularity.  My chest is perfectly sculpted and thick.  Upper, as well as lower mass, delt-pec tie in, and a noticeable crevice running down the middle to give them a large, square look.  My back is very wide, thick and fans out like wings, obviously the largest muscles on my upper body.  My arms are mounds of thick powerful muscle, biceps high peaked, triceps overflowing with mass, and bands of muscle lining my forearms."

Next, you must chart your desired personality traits such as confidence, faith, strength, determination, focus, willpower, etc.  Maybe something like this for strength:

"I have attained unbelievable brute strength.  I feel complete confidence as I increase my lifts with additional repetitions and poundages ritually, like clockwork.  I experience a true feeling of power while performing exercises.  I am consistently moving more weight with more reps and at a faster, more controlled pace."

Concentration:
